On August 16, 2014, our family threw a party to celebrate my grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary. It was held in the Winter Room at the St Laurent complex – where we also held my grandpa’s 80th birthday lunch last year.
It wasn’t a surprise event, so my grandparents were able to look forward to celebrating with family and friends. Here is a photo of them arriving at the venue, aren’t they so cute?
Sitting down to lunch with family and friends
The grandchildren took care of decor and setting up the venue and each family provided at least a dish for a pot luck feast – so much good food!
Wall decals created and put up by my brother. The huge spread of food!
My mom made self serve taco salad and ‘Banh Lot’ a Vietnamese pandan flavoured dessert served with syrup and coconut cream.
Mo Hai made green papaya salad with beef jerky, steam buns and veggie samosas
Di Nam made fried rice and a veggie platter
Cau Ba made shrimp spring rolls and pickled green plums
Cau Tu made fish maw soup
